If you are attempting to connect to your camera but you are presented with the below "Camera connection failed" message, it means the app is having trouble communicating with your camera which could be due to several possible reasons:
If you have changed your camera's SSID or Password after saving it in the BlackVue app previously, you may need to delete and then add your camera again. To delete your camera from the app tap the 'More' box next to your camera name, and select the bottom option 'Delete Camera'. Note: if the bottom option says 'Deactivate Cloud' you will need to proceed with deactivating this before you can delete your camera. |
If you're still having issues, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Turn off Bluetooth in your device settings.
- Restart your device by turning it off and on again.
- Restart your camera by unplugging the DC power cable, letting it power off, and then plugging it back in.
- If your device connects to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto via Wi-Fi, temporarily disable this to prevent automatic connection.
- Perform a manual firmware update for your camera. Check out our 'How-To' camera guides for this process.
