When you return to your vehicle, you may hear your camera announce "An impact was detected during parking mode." In most cases, this means there may have been an impact on your vehicle while you were away, but it's possible that this could be a false alert from you or someone else, for example, exiting the vehicle. Most BlackVue cameras have a 3-minute delay. If the camera detects an impact 3 minutes after entering parking mode or 3 minutes before exiting parking mode, it will not produce this audio prompt. The camera has this delay to reduce the number of false alerts you might receive, as simply closing your vehicle's doors can often trigger an 'Event' recording. |
When you receive this message, it's a good idea to inspect your vehicle for any damage or review your camera recordings to identify the cause of the impact notification. If you discover a recording that could be valuable, be sure to download it promptly to prevent the camera from overwriting it before you save the footage.
If you frequently receive this alert when entering your vehicle, it may indicate that the parking mode sensitivity of your camera is set too high. You might want to consider adjusting this setting to minimise the occurrences.
