If your BlackVue camera is frequently restarting and saying the 'BlackVue for your safe driving, starting normal recording' message (if voice prompts are enabled), then this indicates there is an issue somewhere that is triggering the camera to restart.
The most likely causes for the camera to restart can be due to an issue with the SD card, a firmware issue, an issue with the wiring or an internal hardware issue with the camera itself.
Firstly, try formatting your SD card through a computer using the BlackVue Viewer program and if the issue persists, try a new SD card. Check out our handy user guides if you are unsure how to use the program.
If the issue persists, try performing a manual firmware update for your camera by following our handy user guides to eliminate any potential software issues.
In the event that the issue continues to persist, if possible we recommend having the wiring inspected by the original installer, particularly for 2-CH or 3-CH camera models. If there is any damage particularly to the coaxial cable, this may be sending a faulty image from the rear camera to the front camera which can trigger a restart.
Lastly, the only other variable would be some sort of internal hardware issue with the camera, and in this case the camera would need to be sent in to us for RMA to be inspected further. To submit an RMA, please use our online form here: https://www.blackvue.com.au/rma/
