Manual recording is a feature that is included with most BlackVue model cameras. When enabled, this feature allows the user to tap the camera's Proximity Sensor' or 'Touch Sensor' (which is a light sensor) on the side of the camera to trigger the camera to record a 'Manual' file, and this can be adjusted in the camera's firmware settings. Once triggered, you will typically hear the camera say 'Manual recording on' or 'File locked' if you have audio prompts enabled, and this will record a 1-minute 'Manual' file starting 5 seconds before you tap the sensor to trigger this and 55 seconds after. In either case, the video file will still be recorded, but 'Manual' files are typically easier to locate when scrolling through the list of videos as these will be highlighted as orange in colour (see right) in the list.
